Star Trek Voyager: Across the Unknown

In the back of a closet I still have my complete set of ST:Voyager DVD’s. They sit there, next to TNG, DS9 and TOS, waiting for the day all streaming services collaps, I guess. The TNG era is the Star Trek I grew up with. The spark that ignited my love for scifi.

So I was very, very exited when Daedalic Entertainment announced that it was working on a Voyager game in August 2025.

A game where you decide, where you measure yourself against Captain Janeway and see if you can do better, or at least, different.

And it is a very hard game for me to wrap my brain around. Not because the game is difficult (I play on the lowest setting, I want to see how my voyager story unfolds, I don’t need the game to add to my stress). No the difficulty for me lies in the fact that I have a very clear image in my head of how things should go. Voyager goes as it does, I can probably draw you a timeline from memory.

And this game, while trying to stay faithful to the happenings in the Delta Quadrant where it can, has to move away from those that are canon at many points in the story. A survival RPG where you exactly know what to expect and when to expect it doesn’t really work.

But knowing that does not help me at all. I have restarted once allready because I inadvertently killed a character I loved in an away mission. I will keep trying to get everyone of the core cast home alive. I am having fun but in a very stressful way.
